We have been crankin' busy the past few weeks, getting ready to ride the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT).
Today started with an exciting interview for abc channel 7 news in Los Angeles. This time, they came to the stable and got all kinds of great footage of our imminent departure. The reporter and cameraman even rode with us, and might come to see us on the trail in a couple of weeks.
Chance and I are both exhausted but excited. It's been a whirlwind of shopping, planning, studying maps, and riding over the past couple of weeks. I think all is now prepared for us to have a fabulous time on the trail. We'll be eating a 95% vegan diet of dried fruit, nuts, vegetables, crackers, soup, rice, quinoa, lentils, seaweed, and lots of Herbal Mate tea. We also have a number of packets of Indian Food from Trader Joe's that were excellent on the Colorado Trail. I don't think we'll be going hungry...
It's 4:24 a.m. now and time to sleep for a few hours. Then we will load the truck and drive to pick up the horses in Pasadena. Paul and Donna will drive us to Campo and drop us off. We'll ride until we feel it's time to stop, if that day ever comes.
We hope to update the blog frequently along the way, so stay tuned for adventures!
