OK.  Update on the blog situation.  I wanted to change some things about my blog that I wasn't happy with, so I did some checking and ended up meeting a gal who has a blog on blogger too (check her out on doyouknowthemuffinpan).  She convinced me that I could change the parameters on here to customize the site to what I would like better.  I have tried to accomplish that, and I'm still working on some things, but I'm ready to give this another roll.

One of the things I changed was the comment section.  It won't appear any different to you, but I will now be screening all comments before posting.  I want feedback and suggestions, so I want to continue with a comment section.  It's my favorite part of the blog actually.  I hope this fixes the "problem", or person, whichever way you want to think of it.

Also, if you want to be automatically notified when a blog posts, you can sign up on this website.  Scroll to the bottom and click on subscribe.  Then you don't have to remember to check in - the blog will then automatically be available for your viewing.

I am currently hanging out with a longtime friend in Sacramento.  She and I went to Mexico with another friend 30 years ago this month.  Wow, time sure flies.  We've had a ball hanging out, teling stories, watching movies, and cooking food together.  I am so thankful for her generosity and care.  It's hard to leave, but I head out to pick up the horses on Wednesday.

All three horses have been staying with Patty's friend Mary.  She's been keeping close watch on them in her beautiful woodland pasture about an hour away.  She tells us that Maggie has a new boyfriend - her horse named Cake.  That Maggie, she sure loves to travel.

From here, I'm planning to head East, toward Yosemite, King's Canyon, and the Tuolomne Valley.  I plan to do some riding out there and then head back south to warm weather in the Yuma, Arizona area.

On 1/11/11, at 11:11, I will begin the official start of my goal to ride 10,000 miles on horseback, the same distance as my original plan to ride to South America.  Please join me for stories about my adventures on horseback as we travel state to state.

At the moment, the New Year is rolling, the horses are healthy, and all systems are go!
