"Courage is being scared to death but saddling up anyway." Somehow, I doubt these seasoned officers of the SFPD are ever scared to death, but I'm sure they would saddle up anyway. |

One of my favorite places in San Francisco Used to be a huge Bath House right on the cliffs of Ocean Beach. Now it's a famous restaurant recently upgraded. Great stop for a sunset view. |

Very nice pics,I was pleased to see you next to the fred c egan post.I can't find anywhere where they give info on whom the stables were named after and that is a shame.Fred Egan was my great uncle and for awhile I lived with he and his two sisters on edge of Ingleside terrace. They were wonderful, loving and caring and there will never be a man like Uncle Fted.At times he would take me and my siblings to visit the horses.favorite was black bill. This was around the mid 1960 s.Fred injured his back retired around 1965.He was the head trainer.A big strong man but very gentle.every won liked and respected him. They would tell me that when he retired a horse that Fred would have tears in his eyes.He passed away on nov 22nd 1979 on his birthday. At his funeral mass in san Raphael the had a very hard time not crying.Fred had an interesting and full life before he joined the dept.If your interested in hearing about his life feel free to call me,Bill at 775 443 2566
